Kintsugi - The Shattered Doll

"A broken doll possessed by an unknown spirit. Once a shatttered vessel, now mended by the spirit, she now wanders the virtual worlds of VRChat. And unfortunately, she's now up to something malicious."

This is my avatar submission for VRChat's Spookality 2021. 

She's basically a broken marionette ball jointed doll, that had been possessed by an unknown spirit. The spirit's energy managed to mend most of the damage, glued her body together and creating a Kintsugi art from her scars. That is where she got her name from. And she's going for the spook for this Halloween :D

Features:
- Customizable Kintsugi scars' emission hue color + hue dance option. Can also turn off emission
- Invisibility Toggle + Mirror Visibility settings
- Custom emission intensity based visemes
- Weapon props and pumpkin basket (comes with candies, very important) + desktop animation for holding the props in Action Layer (dont want to override default hand gestures in Gestures Layer. not the best way but it works, kinda)
- Custom emotions & emotes. Also sounds for spooky purposes
- Custom standing locomotion + AFK Animation

Avatar is made using VRoid Studio, from her face, hair, body, and clothing. Also used Photoshop to edit and create textures for the vroid avatar and the props. 

For the marionnette wood spike on her back, the nails, the strings, all props (knife, scissors, golok, katana, etc) and the pumpkin basket w/ candies, as well as her emotion visuals (angry veins, sweat, tears, etc), these are all made by myself using Blender. From modelling, UV Editing, Weight Painting, and Rigging. These are basically my first attempt on 3D Modelling and not gonna lie, they took the most time on this project because I am still learning as I go.

Poiyomi Toon Shader is used for this avatar, and frankly this shader is very important. The settings provided in this shader made some of the features possible.

Thus, there were supposed to be more features to be added. But I don't have enough time and skills yet to finish all of them.

In the end, I am grateful for the progress of this project. Even though I am not skilled enough to make a better avatar, I am still happy with the result, and I hope with this avatar I can give back to the community of VRChat, and also making halloween virtually more spooky. Hopefully. Not sure if this will be qualified. But nevertheless, good luck for everyone participating in this jam :D
